Greenwich Village has a way of slowing even the busiest city. This time, the reason is Chez Nous, the new French brasserie at the Marlton Hotel. Its murals, its menu, and its quietly elegant atmosphere have made its way through every channel imaginable: the art critic, the neighborhood insider, and beyond. Walking into Chez Nous without looking at the menu, no one knows exactly what to expect, which only heightens the thrill.

Inside, the restaurant feels alive in a way that’s hard to describe. The skylit dining room stretches above, dominated by a 30 foot mural by Cecily Brown. Its sweeping strokes seem to breathe, shifting subtly as sunlight touches the paint.

Everything feels deliberate, giving the room a sense of intimacy despite its open space. When the food arrives, it commands the same attention as its surroundings.

The salade Nicoise appears arranged with the precision of a painter’s palette. When the salmon en papillote is opened, steam rises like a gentle invitation, carrying the delicate fragrance of herbs and citrus. Guests should sample the tuna tartare and reach for the Chez Nous burger, rich and playful, while profiteroles dripping with chocolate should be devoured in the midst of laughter and the occasional dramatic pause, as if to celebrate the simple joy of being together again.

At Chez Nous, conversation flows with a natural cadence. The restaurant provides the perfect backdrop: a grown up meeting hub where New York sophistication and warmth coexist.

By the time guests step back into the streets of Greenwich Village, the city feels subtly transformed. The hum of traffic, the flicker of streetlights, even the evening air carry a quiet intimacy. Chez Nous has done more than serve a meal. it has created a space that lingers in memory, a place that feels like yours long after the plates are cleared.
